Monthly Archives: December 2012
It seems quite a while ago now, but as the band have released a few on their social media I thought now would be a good time to put them up. Back in October River Nyle asked me to deliver a series of photos that they could use in their press kits and use within their upcoming album artwork. As they are based up at the Scarborough Uni we managed to get booked into one of the performance studio so had lots of room and complete darkness. We played with quite a few ideas, some standard press and a few that were a little more creative. I’ve left the individual portraits out for now as we’re working on something for the artwork with these – I’ll update you once it’s all settled!
The tip I’ve learnt from this? Don’t over use your flash guns with colored gel attached – it melts and you end up with an irritating task of cleaning it off. Anywho, here are a few of the shots!
Take two of the Meltdown Live events took part on the 7th of December with a handful of bands both Scarborough based and out of town. At the top of the bill was Club Smith, who were again a big hit with the crowd. These lads have played a few gigs in the town over the years and they have always had great feedback from the locals. Take a look at their new album here, you won’t be disappointed!
Before the headliner we had Everyone an Army. It was great to see these guys back in the town and as usual never disappoint with their heavy riffs.
Everyone an Army…
Towards the end of November Scarborough based ‘Stray Scene’ invited me to their gig at Leeds Cockpit, where they supported The Tricks. It was great to be back in Leeds again, and always worth the trip even though this time the gig was in the smaller room upstairs.
Here are a handful of photos from the night, but if you want to see them all click here.
