Monthly Archives: November 2012
Back in August I photographed Mike Hanson, one of Scarborough Spa’s technicians for a feature in an upcoming article in the Sound on Sound magazine. Jon Burton asked Mike about how he has made it into the world of sound engineering and the steps he took through university to secure his position at one of Scarborough’s finest venues. Here are a few shots from the evening including a grab of the article in November’s edition.
The 9th of November brought the first Meltdown band night to Sigma, Scarborough. For our first live event it was a cracking turn out, and seriously looking forward to the next. First up was Scarborough uni band ‘Nose’, with Lazlo on next and finally Redwire from Bradford.
If you love your live music then seriously check this spot out – next live music event on December 7th. Click here for more details.
At last, Sandblast was back at Scarborough University campus in the form of ‘Sandblasticle’. From late afternoon ’till gone midnight Dave Emery and his team of techs unleashed a number of bands to the stage, and as per usual the sound and lights were superb, especially for a small uni campus. The acts were brilliant, and just goes to show how much talent is hidden away up there! My favorite had to be ‘Weaponess’, go have a listen here – you won’t regret it!
Here are a handful of the best shots from the night…
